Work
Fast radio bursts are millisecond radio flashes whose large samples are needed to identify source populations and cosmological applications.
The CHIME/FRB team built a dedicated survey program around CHIME's wide-field radio design, detecting and analyzing large numbers of FRBs including repeaters.
The collaboration moved FRB science into a high-statistics era and made the bursts useful probes of compact objects and the matter between galaxies.
