Work

Supernovae and gamma-ray bursts are among the most energetic transients in the universe and connect stellar evolution with compact-object formation.

Fryer used multidimensional simulations and nuclear-astrophysics modeling to study convection-enhanced explosions, remnant formation, and binary progenitors of high-energy transients.

His work helped make transient astronomy a bridge between stellar physics, nuclear physics, gravitational waves, neutrinos, and gamma-ray observations.
